We are excited to introduce to you our new Chief Operating Officer Jamie Pow
Jamie, who will be based in our Christchurch office, joins us from an extensive leadership background within the hotel and tourism industry. Jamie's career began working in entry-level roles in hotels as a porter and dishwasher. Over the years, he worked his way up to holding senior leadership roles in some of New Zealand's biggest hotels. Most recently, he has been working with Tourism Holdings Ltd, navigating the business through the Covid-19 pandemic and leading the team into the successful rebound of the tourism industry.
Some of Jamie's key successes and achievements over the years include:
- Operationally delivering the "Get NZ Moving Campaign" with THL, which allowed thousands of Kiwis to travel in New Zealand post the Covid lockdowns and kickstarted the domestic tourism industry. This resulted in widespread media attention and was crucial in retaining hundreds of employees during that period.
- Creating a branded customer experience program, "TRX 25," for THL globally which delivered strategic direction, training platforms, process change, and a connected culture throughout the business to significantly increase customer metrics.
- Chairing the global health and Safety Steering committee and implementing future-fit wage models for all crew to ensure employees could go home safely from their roles every day and have the financial freedom to thrive.

During his time off, Jamie is a passionate golfer who plays off a single-figure handicap and is always up for a round of golf. He is also a keen traveller who loves adventure and has been lucky enough to travel extensively, including to some of the world's great golf courses like Bethpage Black, Carnoustie, and St Andrews, among many others.
Jamie will ensure the Remarkable Heart and core values are at the centre of everything we do and is excited to lead the business into continued exponential growth while making sure we continue to have our people at the Remarkable Heart of everything we do!
